“Every film is a puzzle really, from an editorial point of view.”     -Walter Murch

I love a puzzle. There are many editors who can help shape your idea from an upside-down puzzle into an emotionally impactful story with the right balance of sound and visuals. I am one of those editors.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, I found my calling as an editor by FAILING as a director. While pursuing my MFA in Film & Television at NYU Tisch Asia, one of my idols (a three-time Oscar-winning director) reviewed the first cut of my short film, and then spent what felt like hours tearing it apart. It was humbling, enlightening, and most of all it was a masterclass in editing. I crawled back to the edit bay and with nothing to lose, I re-edited the film with a radically different approach. That award-winning film was “MY AVATAR” and it premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in 2011.

As a storyteller with over twenty years of experience making movies and Television, I’m extremely analytical. I will get into the minutiae of an idea and ask questions to ensure we are realizing the same vision. You need a great problem solver, digging into the weeds for a solution. I love collaborating with other creatives to tell impactful stories that walk a tight-rope between comedy and drama.

Does your project rely heavily on Music and Sound Design? I have extended experience working on a number of Musical projects with sound elements that carry the story. My goal with every cut is to have it sound ready to air.

As an Associate Member of the American Cinema Editors, I'm proud to serve on their Internship Committee. Having the privilege to mentor aspiring editors and to serve my community is a great thrill and an opportunity I’m very grateful for.

I live in Los Angeles and I am represented by Ivana Savic through GSK Talent
